The student will be able to:
- Demonstrate a comprehensive working knowledge of the principles and practice of ultrasonography in perioperative and critical care. This will also include the relevant basic sciences.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of specific areas and various modules contained within the syllabus.
- Develop and imbibe an evidence based method of clinical practice.
- Clinical practice
The student will be able to:
- Acquire competencies in assessing patients, planning and undertaking relevant procedures. This will include troubleshooting and management of complications.
- Demonstrate reasonable skill levels appropriate for that level of experience.
- Interpersonal skills
The student will be able to:
- Contribute as a team player with an ability to work and lead the team.
- Demonstrate good communication skills towards patients and colleagues.
- Develop non-technical skills as relevant to the professional practice.
- Research & Audit
The student will be able to:
- Access and retrieve online journals and databases.
- Critically evaluate clinical and scientific literature.
- Design, undertake and present audit and research projects.
- The students will be encouraged to send their assignments for publication e.g. in IJUTPC as original, special or review articles (the successful publication may earn a few credit points towards the PG course).
- The students will be encouraged to send interesting case reports for publication.
